Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email and password (stored securely via our authentication provider) when you create an account.
- Profile data: display name, bio, location and avatar you choose to share.
- Tournament activity: registrations, catches you log (species, length, weight, photos, timestamps, location) and chat messages.
- Payments: processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Device data: basic technical info (browser, device type) to keep the service running and secure.
2. How we use it
- To run tournaments: registrations, leaderboards, catch verification and payouts.
- To show your public angler profile, catches and results to other users.
- To send tournament announcements and service notifications you signed up for.
- To prevent cheating, fraud and abuse of the platform.
3. What is public
Your display name, catches, tournament results and leaderboard positions are visible to other users — that's the point of competitive fishing. Your email address is never shown publicly.
4. Data sharing
We don't sell your personal data. We share limited data only with service providers needed to operate the platform (hosting, authentication, payments, push notifications), and with tournament organizers for events you join (your name and catches).
5. Your rights
You can update your profile at any time from your dashboard, and you can request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us at our support page.
6. Children
COUNT THE CATCH is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes
We'll post any policy changes here and update the date above. Continued use of the platform means you accept the updated policy.
